Jakarta – Prabowo Subianto and Gibran Rakabuming Raka have officially been elected as president and vice president, after the General Election Commission (KPU) of Indonesia announced the results of the recapitulation on Wednesday (3/20) night. Prabowo expressed his gratitude to the people who have exercised their voting rights in the 2024 election.
“We want to express our highest gratitude and appreciation to those who have exercised their voting rights in the 2024 election,” he said at a press conference in Kertanegara IV, Jakarta, on Wednesday (3/20).
Prabowo also expressed his gratitude to the KPU and the Election Supervisory Board (DKPP) for the smooth implementation of the 2024 election, as well as to the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) and the National Police (Polri) for ensuring that this year’s democratic party ran smoothly and safely.
“On February 14, 2024, we experienced the smooth implementation of the election. On behalf of Prabowo-Gibran and the Coalition of Advanced Indonesia, thank you to the KPU, DKPP, and a big commendation to the TNI-Polri for making the 2024 election very orderly, safe, and peaceful,” he said.
Prabowo then thanked the Coalition of Advanced Indonesia (KIM) which supported him, especially the chairpersons and all members of political parties within it. In addition, Prabowo also thanked the National Campaign Team (TKN) and all supporting volunteers.
“We express our gratitude and appreciation to all chairpersons and all members of all parties in KIM, then TKN, volunteers, mothers who are present here (residence of Kertanegara IV),” said Prabowo.
Prabowo urged all the people of Indonesia to unite in bringing the country towards prosperity and justice. He emphasized the importance of strengthening the spirit of nationalism in the midst of differences.
“We invite all the people of Indonesia to look forward together, unite, hold hands. We must be harmonious, work together to bring Indonesia towards prosperity and justice,” said Prabowo.
“We must strengthen the spirit of nationalism, if there are differences among us, it is good. We respect differences. The election is over, all the people’s choices must be respected,” he continued.
Finally, he reiterated that Prabowo-Gibran will be the president and vice president who will work as hard as they can for all the people of Indonesia. Prabowo said that they will prove this mandate by being leaders who truly serve the people.
“We have been chosen by the people, the people’s mandate is in our hands, Prabowo-Gibran will be the president and vice president of the government for all the people of Indonesia. For those who did not vote for us, give us a chance. We will prove to be president and vice president who will work as hard as they can for all the people of Indonesia,” he concluded. (SENOPATI)
