    President Prabowo Subianto is confident in Indonesia’s ability to achieve net-zero carbon emissions, making the country one of the pioneers in reaching this environmental milestone. During a virtual conference focusing on renewable energy development and oil production expansion in East Java, Prabowo emphasized Indonesia’s capacity to efficiently produce energy and reduce logistic costs. Energy independence is a key element in Indonesia’s pursuit of national sovereignty, with the government spearheading 55 new renewable energy projects, including geothermal power plants, to deliver clean and reliable energy throughout the nation.
    Prabowo praised the joint efforts of ministries, regulatory bodies, and energy corporations like Medco Energi and ExxonMobil in supporting Indonesia’s transition to renewable energy. While acknowledging the abundant oil and gas reserves in the country, he stressed the significance of renewable energy sources, especially solar power, in ensuring energy self-sufficiency for local communities. Prabowo remains hopeful for Indonesia’s future, highlighting solar energy as a beacon of progress for various regions, villages, and remote islands.
