Jakarta – Candidate President number 2, Prabowo Subianto, reaffirmed his commitment to stand by the people, especially those facing economic difficulties. At the ‘Press Dialogue and Presidential Candidates’ event at the Press Council building in Jakarta on Thursday (4/1/2024), Prabowo emphasized the importance of taking concrete actions, especially towards children from low-income families.
Prabowo asserted that the flagship programs of the Prabowo-Gibran pair, such as providing free lunch and milk, must be implemented immediately to directly benefit the people.
“This is about necessity, this is about the nation’s future,” he added.
In implementing these programs, Prabowo ensured that Indonesia has the capacity to carry them out. Referring to the budget for social assistance and education amounting to trillions of rupiah, Prabowo emphasized the importance of providing meals in schools as part of the social assistance program.
Responding to the large budget used for the development of the new capital city (IKN), Prabowo is confident that Indonesia is capable of managing it. He stressed that the development of the IKN is part of the country’s infrastructure that requires significant investment.
“We can manage it. We should not be influenced by brainwashing that Indonesia is a poor country,” he firmly stated.
In a discussion organized by the Indonesian Journalists Association (PWI) at the Press Council building, Prabowo emphasized that the large budget used for the IKN project should be viewed as part of long-term investment. He hoped that the public would not be swayed by negative narratives about Indonesia’s ability to develop the project.
Prabowo emphasized the importance of not being influenced by negative opinions about Indonesia’s ability to manage the development of the IKN. For him, the belief that Indonesia can achieve success and manage large projects like the IKN is crucial. (SENOPATI)
