Pemimpin PCO Mendorong Sumatera Utara untuk Mempercepat Infrastruktur Layanan Gizi

Head of the Presidential Communication Office (PCO), Hasan Nasbi, is urging North Sumatra Province to speed up the implementation of the Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) Program by hastening the construction of more Nutritional Fulfillment Service Units (SPPGs). Hasan emphasized the importance of responding to the strong public demand for the MBG Program during his visit to SPPG Cempedak Lobang in Serdang Bedagai, North Sumatra. He highlighted the need for collaboration between the central government, the National Nutrition Agency (BGN), and regional leaders to ensure that school children can benefit from free nutritious meals. Hasan also called for active support from regional governments, especially in disadvantaged areas like the 3T regions.

Governor of North Sumatra, Bobby Nasution, expressed optimism that 200 SPPGs would soon be operational in the province, out of the targeted 1,732 set by the central government. Currently, 77 units have been established, with more expected to be added in the coming weeks and months. Bobby mentioned that each regency and municipality in the province is expected to build a minimum of three SPPGs as part of the regional government’s contribution. The governor also emphasized the importance of private sector engagement in supporting SPPG development through public-private partnerships.

With collaboration, support, and coordination from both the government and private sectors, North Sumatra is on track to meet the target of establishing more SPPGs in the near future. The joint efforts aim to ensure that more communities, especially in 3T regions, can benefit from the Free Nutritious Meals Program.
