National Nutrition Agency (BGN) is taking steps to recruit workers for the Nutritional Fulfillment Service Units (SPPG) from among individuals in extreme and general poverty, in order to promote local employment. Redy Hendra Gunawan, Special Staff to the National Nutrition Agency, mentioned that 30% of the personnel in each SPPG will be selected from underprivileged households, in line with the President’s directive to generate employment through the Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) Program. The establishment of 2,378 SPPG units has been made possible through partnerships with 6,076 local economic institutions. These units involve 93,572 local community volunteers, and the MBG Program has benefited 7,444,238 individuals nationwide so far. The distribution of beneficiaries includes various categories such as education levels, pregnant women, breastfeeding mothers, toddlers, and more. To further expand the program, an additional 2,401 SPPG units will be launched within the next 10 days, reaching a total of 4,788 operational units and serving approximately 15 million beneficiaries nationwide.
