Pria Muda Marah dan Memperlakukan Calon Istri karena Cemburu Telepon dengan Pria Lain

Konawe – AS (26), a man in Konawe, Southeast Sulawesi, heartlessly abused his prospective wife with the initials IU (25). The abuse done by AS to his prospective wife was by hitting and then slamming her.

The Chief of Unaaha Police, Ipda Edy Rambulangi, said that the criminal act of abuse was done by the perpetrator due to jealousy towards his prospective wife, who was suspected of having an affair. “The motive for the abuse is jealousy. That’s why the abuse occurred,” said Ipda Edy, when confirmed on Tuesday, December 26, 2023.

He explained that the act of violence was caught on a surveillance camera (CCTV) which showed the victim and the perpetrator initially just sitting leisurely at a car wash. However, shortly afterwards, the perpetrator then hit the victim’s left thigh and ear using his hand. “The act of abuse was caught on camera. They were just talking at first and then the beating happened,” he said.

Edy further stated that the victim, who was abused, tried to leave and defend herself by hitting back. However, the perpetrator, who was getting angrier, then pulled and slammed the victim to the ground and then hit her again. The people at the location quickly intervened in the dispute. “The victim fought back but was hit again until she fell. Fortunately, the people intervened immediately,” he said.

Edy revealed that the act of violence was later reported by the victim to the police. In her report, the act of violence occurred at a car wash in Tumpas Village, Unaaha District. “A police report has been made regarding the criminal act of abuse. The crime scene is at the car wash,” explained Ipda Edy.

In her report, the victim and the perpetrator initially only discussed the clothes that would be used for the engagement process. However, a while later they were chatting, and suddenly the victim received a call from someone. The victim at that time distanced herself from the perpetrator when she received the call, making the perpetrator suspicious that the victim was receiving a call from her lover.

“At first, they were just discussing their wedding preparations. But when the victim received a call and distanced herself, it made the perpetrator jealous. Based on the preliminary examination, the victim answered the call from a man,” he explained.

The police, Edy said, had attempted mediation after receiving the report from the victim. However, the mediation was rejected and they requested that the perpetrator or her prospective husband be immediately arrested.

“The report was received and we tried to mediate first. But there was no agreement. So the perpetrator was immediately arrested last Saturday,” he said.

Currently, Edy said, the perpetrator has been detained and interrogated. As for the next step, Edy acknowledged that they would again pursue the mediation route if both parties wanted to agree to reconcile. But, if it is still rejected, then they will take the legal route.
