Palembang – Dani Andika alias Cakuk (30) has admitted that he is satisfied with having taken the life of Farid (30), the boyfriend of his former wife Agusvita (26). His face does not show regret and he can still smile.
Dani, who is the third betel husband of Agusvita, admitted to committing murder against Farid, because he was challenged by the victim.
Because of that, when he met the victim in a market in Lorong Sungai Goren 1, Kelurahan 2 Ulu, Seberang Ulu I Palembang, South Sumatra, on Friday morning, December 15, 2023, he did not hesitate to stab him to death. Not only the victim Farid, Dani also stabbed his former wife Agusvita.
“I was challenged by the victim. I am also satisfied. But after being challenged twice, I felt compelled to take the victim’s life,” he said, while enduring pain due to being shot by the authorities with hot lead in his left leg.
Dani continued, at the time of the incident, he was walking in the 2 Ulu Market. Initially he met his former sister-in-law.
“At first I met the victim’s sister at the market. But I did not think that Farid was also there,” he said.
Then, seeing Dani, Agusvita’s sister looked nervous and immediately went to her sister, and told her about Dani’s whereabouts.
“When her sister met me, she was spontaneous like she was afraid. Then I saw Agusvita with the victim Farid. But it disappeared (out of sight). When they were near the boarding house, they met again. When they met, I stabbed him,” he said.
Dani said, he had lived with Agusvita for almost a year. “We have been married traditionally for two years. We rented there for a year. And four months ago I was kicked out because there was no work. Honestly, I work in construction every day, and even when there is no work, I collect used goods,” he said.
He continued, when renting in Lorong Sei Goren 1, Kelurahan 2 Ulu, SU I, Palembang, Agusvita was caught cheating twice.
“But when that happened, I forgave her. And until we finally separated. We also haven’t had children yet,” he said.
According to Dani, before they separated, a year ago he proved his love for Agusvita by daring to cut off his pinky finger in front of his betel wife.
“I proved to Agusvita, that I really love her, at that time I cut my finger in front of her,” he said.
But after he cut off his finger, Dani continued, Agusvita continued to misbehave by bringing men into the boarding house.
“If it’s with me, she’s been caught bringing a man home twice. The residents also caught her at the boarding house once. At that time, she was almost kicked out, but I still defended her. We have separated several times,” he said.
Previously, the Palembang City Police Chief, Commissioner Pol Harryo Sugihhartono, said after the incident, detectives immediately pursued and succeeded in identifying the whereabouts of the perpetrator.
Police arrested Dani when he was about to cross to Bangka Island. He was arrested by officers while in the Banyuasin area, precisely in Tanjung Api-Api. When the perpetrator was in the Banyuasin area, precisely at Tanjung Api-Api, that’s when the suspect was immediately arrested.
“If from his confession, the suspect wanted to escape to West Bangka. However, when he was in the Tanjung Api-Api area, the suspect was immediately arrested,” said Palembang City Police Chief, Commissioner Pol Harryo Sugihhartono, accompanied by the Criminal Investigation Unit, AKBP Haris Dinzah.
Harryo continued, besides arresting the perpetrator, members also secured evidence, in the form of a sharp weapon used by the perpetrator, along with clothing. “The perpetrator is currently being questioned about the murder,” he said.
For his actions, said Haris, the perpetrator Dani will be charged with article 338 of the Criminal Code and article 351 paragraph 3 of the Criminal Code, with a sentence of 15 years in prison.
